Red Herring is also a preliminary financial document, in addition to being a misleading clue. Hence, the clue is actually a direct one :)
Also, for marathon, honourable provides the 'hon' and not just 'h'.
Interestingly, I picked up the crossie after years, and solved all but two that has been already presented. That's an encouragement for me.
